Issues - Casinos

I am opposed to the building of casinos for two fundamental reasons:
1) Community impacts and
2) Land Use

The Community impacts on crime, traffic congestion and the exploitation of minorities, seniors, and low income all have been documented in much research data. The land use issues have environmental impacts on our watershed and on endangered species.

While it is exemplary that the Graton Tribe has entered into union contracts and will pay Living Wages, this still does not cancel out the other significant community impacts on our beautiful agricultural county and the people who live here. However, we should use their model of union contracts and Living Wages for other businesses that wish to enter into our County.
